Rural Tourism

This is our favorite type of tourism. The Costa Ricans are very well educated on how to work the front desk of a hotel and how to operate different tourism events on a professional level. But when it comes to service I feel you get the best when you just let them do what comes natural. This is where rural tourism really gets to show off just how hospitable the Costa Rican’s can be.

Rural tourism is a chance to give back. We have heard many times that the trip was the trip of a lifetime and when rural tourism is involved a local family gets to live that experience also. Rural tourism can be on a big scale or a small scale. Just stopping by a local little store is rural tourism. If you wanted to step it up a notch you could go live in a village for two days where a family would make an income and more importantly some new friends.

Costa Rica is the perfect country to have rural tourism as a part of your trip. It is very safe, people are amazing, and the economic need is there in rural areas. Without a doubt it is the most rewarding way to travel for you as a tourist and us as a travel company. Just think that you staying in a house for two days instead of a hotel, you would be paying that family what they would usually make all month for just two days of fun and hospitality.

Our rural tourism projects are not just drop you off and leave you. It is full blown VIP attention from start to finish. Our guides work as your translator and we have a number of different activities planned for you during your stay.

Rural Tourism is like walking into the kitchen of the five star resort and hanging out with the cooks, waitress, and lady that is cleaning the floor. You meet the real people that live real lives. If you want 5-Star lodging we can set that up but if you think you might be up for just a night or two of living in a village we can promise you we have a 110% satisfaction level from all our clients who have done this. In fact almost all say it was their favorite part of the trip.

The guy that owns the 5-Star resort might make $30,000/month which just might be enough to pay his bills and a little bit of play cash. The family you live with for two nights might make $30/month which just might be enough to get the kids off to school.

Testimonials

"Loved giving back to the local communities. It was amazing to walk into the rural areas and feel so welcomed. The zipline and rafting are amazing but bringing us to hang with the locals tops it all. "
