Rural Tourism - Local familyWhen it comes to living simple and doing what you love to do the Chapman family fits that profile. Here you have Jon Chapman from California who came down to Costa Rica 25 years ago and married his Tica girlfriend Leyla Chapman. They decided to move back to California for a few years but then missed the beautiful country of Costa Rica. When they moved back Jon invested in some areas of the jungle and they decided to start a family. Today what you have is four kids, Jesse, Lindsey, Melissa, and Angie all ranging in age from 17 – 24 and all very adventurous and lovers of the outdoors. The family operates tours in the southern part of Costa Rica and together with Costa Rican Resource has been able to show many clients some of the most beautiful parts of the country imaginable that before might have never been seen by anyone. The two properties that the Chapman’s work hard in showing our clients some of their best experiences of their trip to Costa Rica is the Nuayaca Waterfall and what we call La Cueva. These are two areas that are very close to each other and both involve a lot of waterfalls. The Nauyaca Falls is a half day trip to one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the area. But the real adventure for this family is La Cueva which translates to The Cave. It is here that we hike in 2 hours to one of the most majestic and hidden places not only in Costa Rica but what we have heard to be on Earth. The Chapmans welcome you into the cave on a very simple and humble vibe of everything around you and a love for nature that gets everyone excited about sleeping in the cave and behind a waterfall for the night. The Chapman family offers the whole package with Jesse and the Costa Rican Resource guides guiding on the rappel of the nearby waterfall and Leyla and her daughters working the kitchen getting everything ready for the next meal. The Chapman family is a great example of how families can work together in working on the true passion of the family and that is appreciating their natural surroundings and living together as a family. Testimonials"Loved giving back to the local communities. It was amazing to walk into the rural areas and feel so welcomed. The zipline and rafting are amazing but bringing us to hang with the locals tops it all. " Michael CA
