Costa Rica Vacation Chirripo

If you are looking to experience some trekking and serious adventure then the Chirripo National Park might need to be on your list for your next family vacation. This is a hike to the second highest point in all of Central America. We suggest this adventure only if time permits as it will take around 4 days from your vacation. This is a hike that is straight up and is 20km long and reaches heights of 13,000ft. Along with the intense hiking comes simple living conditions at the top. If you want your family vacation to Costa Rica to include a challenging trekk and see the best scenery and views Costa Rica has to offer, then this is the adventure for you.

This is an adventure that you can take the kids on but you want to be sure they can hike 20km up. It is around eight hours hiking the first day and then three hours hiking on day two.  Unless you are in incredible shape we would plan this at the end of your trip or on your way to the beach so you don’t have to do anything on your family vacation after the big hike.

Chirripo National Park is without a doubt one of the most beautiful areas you can imagine. It is mostly Costa Rican tourist who make up 90% of the visitors there. When you arrive to the sleeping area up top it will be your family and maybe 5 or 6 other people plus the park ranger. We pack food and very simple clothing.
