Casa Turire Hotel

It is hard to pick a favorite hotel in a country where there is just one paradise after another. The Turrialba area is one of the less touristy areas around. The main reason for visiting the Turrialba area is for the amazing river rafting and the Pacuare River. Yes, there is tourism in the area but not like some other areas such as Monteverde, Arenal, or the Pacific Coast. There are a few places to stay in the Turrialba area but only two of which you can list as high end. One of the places is called Hacienda Tayutic and the other is called Casa Turire.

Casa Turire is a small hotel with only 16 rooms. When you drive in on the long beautiful entrance road lined with palm trees it seems as if you are arriving to the house of your dreams. It is a beautiful structure that has been kept up in its original form and is very elegant throughout. There is a pool table and a small  bar. There are balconies all around that give you views of the well-tended gardens. The hotel is often quiet and a perfect spot for a honeymoon or small family vacation. One of the most attractive and unique parts of this hotel is its center courtyard which has a layout of tables and natural sunlight making it a great place for your afternoon tea or morning coffee.

The hotel has no A/C except for the one master suite upstairs which is a two story room with an absolutely enormous balcony.  At no point do you ever feel you need A/C. We have had a number of clients stay at Casa Turire and their first reaction is that “there is no A/C?” and then after that all we hear is positive comments about the hotel and that they never felt they needed A/C.

We as a company wish there were more hotels like Casa Turire that somewhat forces our clients and other tourist to live without A/C for a day or two and see just how easy it is in such a beautiful place surrounded by peace and quiet and the breeze coming off the lake.

The hotel is located on a beautiful lake and has amazing views of the Turrialba volcano which on a clear day smoke can be seen coming from the top. The pool area of the hotel is absolutely perfect and with chairs and tables all around makes for the perfect area for a coffee at any hour.

We often use this hotel for our clients even if it is just for one night and then on your way to the Pacuare River. In our company we often stress how it is important to enjoy the little things and that the little things make a big difference. In saying this we will say that Casa Turire is home to some of the best desserts in all of Costa Rica.
